First Impressions: Seto no Hanayome

That's basically it.

Let's see how well-rounded I can write this while ignoring the pleading cries of my homework.

So the guy's just your normal dude, though he looks a bit like Yoshimori from Kekkaishi with the hair and stuff. I never knew I could envy a girl's hair so much, but San/Sun's drove me straight into the ground with her cute looks + awesome hair.

Um, she's a mermaid, gtfo.

I've watched the first two episodes, so there won't be any spoileringspoilspo in this, don't worry 8D;

Okayso.

Lucky Dude #39027095732, Michishio Nagasumi, is totally your average joe, thought I haven't really caught onto his age from only two episodes. Maybe I fail? So the guy's on his summer vacay with his parents (the sucker), and his mother seems to always question where he got his idiocyness from (Um, puberty, duh), and his dad is a lot more like him than he really knows.

So after more talking, they're coming from Saitama to the coastside, to a magical place called Seto Island where mermaids are caught up in some crazy legend and Nagasumi's parents would rather it stay that way. So his dad's a bigmouth, and has a fatherson talk about who can swim or not, which eventually leads to Nagasumi drowning (leg cramps? Those hurt like shitloads).

Naga screeems and all the happy people on the beach seem to ignore his gurgling deathcries, so he goes under, and thinks it's all over for him, until the shadow of something that looks like a mermaid pulls a dolphin in the water and apparently pulls him to safety.

We don't know that for sure; she could've raped him for all we know.

So he gets saved, washed up on a rock, and his dad tells him to wake up, while Nagasumi's all wtf at why he was still alive.

-cutcutcut to when they go back to his grandma's place-

The mermaid shows up! And she has...legs? So she looks like a normal human, and what's more, she asks the million-dollar question that will send this animes' figure's productions into an uproar: "I ask...Please take me as your bride!"

And she continues:

"I'm sure you're surprised at the suddenness of this, but I humbly ask Nagasumi to take responsibilty for what he's done today."

Remember that his parent's don't know that he almost drowned and was saved by a mermaid.
It does sound like he did something naughty, doesn't it? Hurhurhur.

I pulled a lmao when she said it, doubled over with a roflcopter at his parent's reaction.

And then because I'm getting lazy, basically they (MotherFatherSon) go down into the sea and visit the girl's house, for tea at a Yakuza's house. Reeyeahhhh. Turns out her parents are yakuza, and he's about to marry into a gangster family of fish. Gangstaaaa.

--cutcutcut past all the fighting-thats-not-really-awesome, Nagasumi getting his ass kicked, and a cute couple moment with San and Naga--

So San (the mergirl, incase you forgot, which you shouldn't have because she's 110% cute) says that what she did was because of her ninkyo/ningyo pride (kekeke, wordpuns--Ninkyo means chivalry/Ningyo means Mermaid), and she couldn't have just let him drown.
